Fun Everywhere, Smooch
This place has FUN written all over 🙂

MumbaiMag.com was invited for the Smooch Red Carpet event yesterday and I was there to cover it. As I entered ‘Smooch Italian Frozen Yogurt’ outlet at Juhu, I noticed crazy fun all around me with everything from flashing party lights, balloons & cool party tracks to get you into party mood. Wow, really interesting, I thought!

I met Sujas Rait, who handles Smooch Yogurt’s Social Media. She informed me that Smooch Yogurt has a total of 75 flavors and they also have 6 special flavours which change with the day of the week. Now, whats interesting is that you don’t pay for each topping, rather you pay by the weight. You can fill your cup up with toppings up till the brim, and pay only for its weight. For each additional gram of yogurt, the charge is Rs 0.85 and for each additional gram of toppings, the charge is Rs 1.10 . The price range of the yogurts is between Rs.80-150. Decent enough. Smooch Yogurt offers free wi-fi and they also have an i-Pad present so that you can just have a fun whenever you are just chilling there.

Now, getting back to the party, Smooch was offering free yogurt to everyone at their Yogurt Party. After you receive your ‘Free Pass’ at the entrance, you can go and try some of their best flavors (without any toppings though). So I picked up my cup and spoon and eagerly waited to taste their best flavors.

1) Original Tart : [Plain, simple & Old Fashioned Yogurt.] I could literally feel that the yogurt tasted fresh and did not have that granular feel that is much disliked. Not too sweet nor too sour. My recommendation? If you don’t like those fancy flavors and just want some old school, healthy yogurt, then the original tart is what you’re looking at. Rating : 4/5

Pink Mochi, Smooch

2) Pink Mochi [Japanese Delight, sticky rice dough dessert] This wasn’t my favorite yogurt, but not their worst either. I can’t say about the sticky rice dough, but all I could taste was strawberry in my yogurt. I like strawberry and I could give this one a smile after having it. Not very sweet, just as yogurt should be. An Average I will say. Rating : 3/5

3) Italian Tiramisu : [Dark, rich & intense, coffee, cake & cream] I was excited when I got the cup in my hands, who doesn’t love Tiramisu? The flavor of coffee was very prominent with the taste as well as the aroma, but what brought this yogurt down for me was that there was a certain taste of ‘Milk Powder’ in my yogurt. That immensely reduced the taste of what is actually called ‘Tiramisu’ & made it seem like a mixture of Coffee flavor & Milk Powder. Rating : 3/5

4) Red Velvet Yogurt : Red Velvet happens to be one of the favorites of the masses at Smooch Yogurt. I received my trial cup and tasted it. Initially it did not seem any different than a Pink Mochi, but after adding a topping of Sugar Coated Caramel Almonds & Crunchies, the red velvet sent me on my way to heaven. A combination of yogurt and sugar coated crunchies denied me any chance of giving this flavor a bad name. I recommend that you have this with the sugar coated caramel almonds topping. Rating : 4.5/5

5) Green Apple : Just as the name goes, the flavor of Green Apple in the yogurt was very prominent. I personally love Green Apple, and by far, I might not have tasted a better Green Apple flavored Yogurt till now than I have at Smooch Yogurt. A must try. Rating : 4/5

6) New York Cheesecake : This by far was the best yogurt I’d tasted at Smooch Frozen Yogurt. Buttery & very smooth. Without a topping, you would really consider it less than average, but after adding Biscuits and Blueberries to my New York Cheesecake, this happened to be the undisputed winner amongst all of the yogurts I had tasted last night. Recommended Toppings : Biscuits, Blueberries & Sugar Coated Almond Crunchies. Rating : 4/5

The Photo booth at Smooch Yogurt

The Mega yogurt tastethon was done. It was truly amazing. But wait, this event just didn’t end here. There is loads that is yet to be told. As I climbed up a small staircaise, I noticed that there was so much to do. A free Nail Art session, where you girls could go & get some funky designs done on your nails and free Blow Paint Tattoos, where I happened to get one done for myself plus a photobooth, where you could go & pick up some really funky wigs, hats, glasses & many many more things and get your pictures clicked. The place was packed with people and it couldn’t get any better than this.

For all you guys who couldn’t attend the event, don’t be sorry, there is more good news. On Mondays, ‘Smooch Frozen Yogurts’ offer Happy Yogurt Hours from 12pm-3pm. Buy 2 yogurts & get 1 absolutey free. They also have foursquare offers. For all those of you who do not happen to know what is Foursquare, it is a mobile application, where you can check-in & if the vendor decides to, they can give you something free/discount for checking in to their store. If you check-in to ‘Smooch Italian Frozen Yogurt’ with a group, you get a free yogurt on your purchase of one yogurt & if you’re the mayor of ‘Smooch Italian Frozen Yogurt’, you get a flat 50% off everytime you check-in. Wow. How about that 🙂
