Ladies, when was the last time you ran? No we are not talking about running for a bus or train or behind your kids to feed them, but running for yourself, for your health. Here is a chance. Stayfree Women For Change DNA ICAN Women’s Half Marathon will be held on Sunday 10th March 2013 at Bandra Kurla Complex for supporting a cause and your spirit.

About DNA I Can Women’s Half Marathon
DNA I Can Women’s half Marathon is celebrating its second year now and this year they will be running for the causes of prevention of anemia and girl child education.

  • Prevention of Anemia: The lack of nutritious food or regular intake of water, following unhygienic practices, not using sanitary pads are among several reasons why women’s health suffers. These result in a sharp drop in hemoglobin levels and cause weakness, lesser productivity and lack of immunity.
  • Girl Child Education: Even in metros like Mumbai, there are many girls who are still deprived of education because of the traditional gender bias. It then leads to poor earnings and poor livelihood and thus the cycle continues. Sanhita and Nanhi kali are the two NGOs associated with the marathon and 50% of the registration proceeds will be donated to them. You will also get to interact with the NGOs on the marathon day so you get detailed information on the causes they are working and also how you can help them not in just monetary terms.

Run To Show Your Support
