Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense, First West End Play Comes To Mumbai

This event is already over.
The award-winning, sell-out success “Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense” is bringing the genius of PG Wodehouse to the Mumbai stage! This will be the first ever Indian tour of a major West End production, and will feature cast and crew, as well as original sets, props and wardrobe from the UK. What’s more, it will be arriving in India just after the 100th anniversary of the publication of the first Jeeves and Wooster story! In typical Wodehouse-ian fashion, a weekend in the country goes farcically awry, and the lovably incompetent Bertie Wooster finds himself at the centre of a series of hair-brained schemes. Unwittingly playing matchmaker for his friend Gussie Fink-Nottle while also attempting to steal a cow creamer on behalf of his formidable Aunt Dahlia, Bertie bumbles past a host of Wodehouse’s idiosyncratic characters all the while depending on his whip-smart valet Jeeves to stop him from making a complete mess of things. Originally directed by Sean Foley, and adapted by brothers Robert and David Goodale, this raucous comedy has charmed audiences across the United Kingdom and Europe, and has won the 2014 Olivier Award for Best New Comedy. Wodehouse fans might recognize plotlines of the iconic novel The Code of the Woosters, although the play also incorporates elements from other Jeeves and Wooster stories, and is full of classic Wodehouse-ian tropes that will be a delight for fans. The Mumbai tour of the production will feature Matthew Carter in the role of Bertie Wooster, Joseph Chance as Jeeves and co-writer Robert Goodale as Seppings. The production is anticipated to open on New York’s Broadway in the 2016 season, followed by more tours across Europe, Asia and Australia. Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense” will be performed at the Jamshed Bhabha Theatre, NCPA from January 8th to 10th with shows at 4 pm and 8 pm on all three days. Tickets available on
