Cuts, prints and accessories all kept aside – what’s the one thing that you notice about a garment that makes it to the Red Carpet? The color, yes! Amongst all the things trending this season, the first one caught by my fashion antenna were the colors spotted on more than one diva at the the recently held 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards and closer home at the Hello! Hall Of Fame Awards and the 19th Colors Screen Awards. Here is a look at the hottest hues this year with some tips on how you can rock them!

Sizzling Gold
Sizzling Gold

Gold : Selena Gomez in Atelier Versace, Anushka Sharma in Cavalli and Emily Blunt in Machael Kors all sizzled in Gold this year.
Beauty tip: Opt for smokey eyes with nude lips
Best worn as: Night wear – be it a fancy dinner or a night on the dance floor
With a twist: Add an element of matt on this shiny, radiant color. My bet? Get your hands on the latest matte black nail colors to damatise the look

Classic Black
Classic Black

Black: Kate Hudson in Alexander McQueen, Madhuri Dixit in Christian Dior and Eva Longoria in Emolio Pucci all donned the classic black.
Beauty tip: Avoid the dramatic eyes and play it up with a bright lip color instead – oranges, pinks, reds
Best worn as: The classic way of keeping this color is night wear; but I’d beg to differ in opinion. The forever classic black looks stunning ay anytime for day or night – you can’t ever go wrong with this one
With a twist: Add a pop of dimension with the season’s favorite trend – the neon. Be it a nail paint shade or an accessory you’re wearing – go for it.

Royal Green

Green: Deepika Padukone in Dolce & Gabbana and Yami gupta looking stunning in green, which is being hailed as the colour of the year!
Beauty tip: Blue, bronze and a tinge of smoldering black for eyewear would complement this amazingly
Best worn as: Experiment with lighter shades of this color for day wear, while you can go for darker shades like an emerald or bottle green for a night out
With a twist: Make a color blocking statement by throwing in in some red, blue or orange

Oxblood Still Hot
Oxblood Still Hot

Oxblood: Naomi Watts in Zac Posen & Taylor Swift in DKNY rocked the Oxblood, which we told you was seriously hot this season!
Beauty tip: Keep it uniform by wearing the same shade on your lips, too
Best worn as: The same rule as the greens – go for lighter shades for day and darker ones for night
With a twist: Keep it classy with black and gold accessories that will complement this look well

Ethereal White
Ethereal White

White: Anne Hathaway in Chanel, Chitrangadha Singh in Roberto Cavalli and Heidi Klum in Alexandre Vauthier looked ethereal in classic white.
Beauty tip: Scarlet red’s look to-die-for on a pure ensemble
Best worn as: Break the rules and wear it when you like!
With a twist: Metallic accessories, a pop of neon or dramatic make up – this is one style you can go crazy and experiment with.
