Yash Muthiyan
Yash Muthiyan

Name: Yash Muthiyan
Reason to run: “I run because it is the most pure form of mental as well as physical release. I run to inspire young runners like myself to take up the sport. And I run because listening to my feet hitting the ground makes me feel like I am listening to my heart beat. Running punctuates my life.”

Charan Samtani

Name: Charan Samtani
Reason to run: “I run because it is the only thing that I love more than eating. I started running a year and a half back because I wanted a strong heart & great stamina. What I discovered while pushing myself in my first half marathon is that one always underestimates the body God has given us because it has a lot of strength & adaptability and with strong will and proper training there’s nothing we can’t do. Running gives you many more things like acquaintance with interesting people, boosted self confidence, unlimited photographs, medals, guilt-free dinners, making & breaking records and so much more than I can write. The things that I love about running the most are the experience of crossing the finish line and daring to dream big.”

Anurag Chugh

Name: Anurag Chugh
Reason to run: “Like others, I started running for all the usual reasons – to keep fit, to understand what the fuss was all about, overcome medical issues, to become attractive, adrenalin rush etc. – but after running for a while you achieve a state where running seems more normal to you than not running. So, Now I run because, well, I don’t like not running.”

Priyanka Singh

Name: Priyanka Singh
Reason to run: “The marathon is a charismatic event. It has everything. It has drama. It has competition. It has camaraderie. It has heroism very few things in life match the thrill of a marathon. I want to run no matter how long I take. I definitely want to show how beautiful the marathon can be. I am the opponent of all those who find the marathon bad: the psychologists, the physiologists, the doubters. I make the marathon beautiful for myself and for others. That’s why I’m here.”

Madhurie Mads

Name: Madhurie Mads
Reason to run: “I run to make a difference, raise funds and spread awareness of the cause. Most importantly I run because it makes me happy… Happy that I can be of help to someone who is not as privileged as I am. :)”

Mitesh Shah
Mitesh Shah

Name: Mitesh Shah
Reason to run: “It’s hard to explain what happens during a marathon to someone who’s never done one. There’s doubt. There’s fear. But, it’s not all bad. There’s joy, ecstasy, and elation to be had as well. Unlike other competitive sports, it is an intensely personal experience. It gives rise only to one breed – winners! You are already a winner by just participating and crossing the finish line. It’s been an eventful five-year journey with the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon (since 2009). I started running for usual reason for a “cause”, but now “Runs end. Running doesn’t” – courtesy @Nike. A journey that I have seen to grow from the event into a movement – a journey that has been embellished me with milestones and earned recognition and kudos. Thank You SCMM :)”
