From tandoori chicken to aloo paranthas, there is something simply lovable about this cuisine that makes it everyone’s (or at least everyone I know) comfort food. So for all you ‘Punjabi’ food lovers, here is our list of North Indian restaurants in Mumbai worth their salt.

Delhi Darbar was opened in 1973 and is most famous for its delicious Mutton biryani. They like to call themselves ‘The Biryani King’ of Mumbai. Apart from mutton and chicken dishes they have sumptuous Tandoori Paneer, Malai Paneer, Navratan Korma, Dal Bukhara and more. And you must try their silk soft Roomali roti. Apart from the regular menu, they have special dishes on different days. They have special Indian desserts like Phirni, Ras Malai, Shahi Tukda and Gulab Jamun. They have six outlets across the city including one in Navi Mumbai.

B Bhagat Tarachand is located in busy streets of Zaveri Bazaar and was started in 1978 by Mr. B Bhagat Tarachand as eatery for home-cooked vegetarian meals. The uniqueness here are the Sindhi and Punjabi flavours. They serve Chhas as an accompaniment to the meals calling it ‘Kuttchi Beer’ because it is given in beer bottles! Another specialty is the papad churi, crushed papad with a dash of spices. They have four branches in Mumbai including one in Vashi.
