Mumbai has opened up to the craft beer culture and how. The last one year has seen Doolally open its first outlet in Bandra and then we’ve had Pune-based Independence Brewing Company launch its beers in the city too. This Oktoberfest, we sincerely suggest that you try and get a taste of real beer than commercial lagers – trust us, you won’t be disappointed by even a pint.

White Zen by Gateway Brewing Company Gateway’s beers are available on taps across 40 bars/restaurants in the city so that leaves you with a lot of options to choose from (more than a dozen, yay!). Coming to the point, White Zen is their German style wheat beer that has hints of clove and banana to it is easy to drink and great for those switching from commercial lagers to craft beer. This brew has a creamy texture which is accentuated with dark chocolate and coffee notes and your perception of bitter, dark beer will definitely change when you have this one. Of all their brews available, The Belgian Wit is bracing rye pale ale, swimming with oddball spices, pilsner, wheat malts and oats. Again, easy to drink for those who will be trying craft beer for the first time, this what beer brew is your best bet to begin with.
