Temperance: Mumbai’s All New Culture Hub In Bandra

Sneak Peek of Temperance Building in Bandra

Come 1st May and Mumbai will have its very own culture and fitness hub in Bandra. Temperance, started by Bandra girls and cousins, Viola and Hema, hopes to be a place where you can hang loose, eat healthy and also learn a few new things.

The striking 4 storey building in the by lanes of Bandra will house everything from a deli to dance floors, yoga room and a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) gym. The ground and first levels are dedicated to the Deli where you will be able to enjoy make-your-own salads, pastas, sandwiches in a comfy, vibrant boho chic ambience.

Level 3 will be home to dance and yoga classes. You can learn dance styles ranging from Jazz Funk, Bolly Hop, Contemporary, Zumba, Salsa and Belly Dancing. The team also plans to introduce styles like Rope Malkham and Poi soon. For yoga, you can pick from flowing Hatta Yoga or traditional Iyengar Yoga classes.

Level 4 will house the MMA gym with space for a book club and movie club to be launched in the coming months. Classes in krav maga, grappling, judo, jujutsu, kickboxing and women’s self-defense will be taught. Classes for Yoga and MMA begin 1st May and you can find the registration form here.

The team also plans to start hosting workshops for everything from origami to pottery and knitting in their courtyard every week. Temperance is hosting free for all tour of their building in a big reveal on 25th April from 11 am to 8 pm. So if you do go and check it out, tell us about it here!
