For everyone who is looking for reason to celebrate, here’s one, the Chinese New Year. Also known as the Spring Festival, the Chinese New Year is the most important of the traditional Chinese Festivals and is celebrated with a hearty feast for friends and family. And what better place to enjoy a Chinese feast than at Umame. This is the year of the Snake and to celebrate it Umame at Churchgate has launched a special Chinese menu all this month long.
What’s The Menu?
The menu which claims to serve the best of Pan Asia, has been culled from owner and chef, Farrokh Khambata’s signature menus and all time favourites. Expect to find a host of new dishes that will tempt you with oriental seduction like the Festive New Year Dumpling of Chicken and Shrimp, Shenzenh duck served with xiang xiang pancakes, Pau of twice cooked pork, “pot stickers” of sweet potato and coriander, Yangtze River prawns, Guangzhou slow steamed snapper filets, Beijing slow roast chicken with Mandarin orange and many more such exotic sounding Asian delicacies. The new menu at Umame also includes delicately steamed tofu cooked in soy, rice wine and ginger, dragon lotus leaf XO rice with asparagus and mushrooms or chicken and black fungus, noodle pan friend with broccoli and asparagus or meat or shrimp.
