Yes Mumbai, we are guessing most of you have your long weekend travel all planned and chalked out. (Ahem.. As you read this post I’m off to Goa). But there are still a few of us, who cannot take a long break from work (like Garima). For them and everyone else, here’s our list of fun events you can attend this weekend around the city.

Piya Behrupiya

The well known play Piya Behrupiya will be performed in South Mumbai this weekend. Produced by The Company Theatre, this play is the Hindi version of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. It is translated to Hindi by Amitosh Nagpal and is directed by Atul Kumar. Tickets available on bookmyshow.com.

Duo's Comedy, Lagerbay
Duo’s Comedy, Lagerbay

Double is fun! Watch Mumbai’s only Improv showcase by Improv Comedy Mumbai where pairs of the best Improv comedians will entertain you. In this show, comedy will be showcased in various styles like sketches, music and stand up acts. The performers include beginners and professionals. What’s more, if you think you can take up the stage, if you have experience of theatre and part of a two person act, you can sign up for your own act too. Duration allowed is around 7 to 15 minutes.

Why not use this weekend to spend some time with kids? (and shopping?) Phoenix MarketCity, Kurla will be organizing flower making workshop for kids as part of their Kids Club Weekends. This workshop will include paper flower making and will be conducted by Sharmila Chauduri, founder of Art and Language Lab (Lighthouse – Resource & Activity Centre).

Make your Easter special this year. Jumpstart has organized a perfect de-stressing weekend. Enjoy an overnight camping and wine tasting weekend in the famous vineyards of the ‘Wine Capital of India’, Nashik. This includes visit to three famous vineyards-Sula, York and Zampa. You can see the process of grapes turning into wines and also get a chance to taste 12 different types of wines. Next day will be reserved for bath at Gangapur dam and visit to the caves and famous Trimbakeshwar temple. Breaking Rules will conduct their next photography workshop at Salt Pans, Wadala. Photographer Kaushik Chakravorty will demonstrate landscape photography in this two parts series. In the first part, you get to practice photography and in the next, the theory part, you learn editing, your work is critiqued and advice shared. Amateurs are welcome.
