MTV is all set to bring its famed MTV Bloc Party to India and the first destination on the Indian leg of the tour is Mumbai. MTV Bloc Party is all about EDM, seamless partying across party blocs, and having a good time. Probably just what you need after a taxing week! DJs like Alessa (“world’s hottest DJ”), Deniz Koyu, Opiuo, Cosmo Klein will be setting the groove right at the 2-day party.

Murra Lala Fafal
For those of you who like traditional folk music, Blue Frog is where you must head. Murra Lala Fafal, a singer from the rural family of Marwada Meghwals, is performing on his 300 year old Santaar this weekend. This artist has been singing since he was a child and has grown up in a family that has been into music for 11 generations! He sings in Kutchi (language of Kutch in Gujarat) and his lively spirit and musical jokes make him a joy to watch.

A bit of introspection can never be too much. Dates.sites is a graphic timeline of the 20th century Mumbai/Bombay cinema. Atul Dodiya will launch the book while Jerry Pinto and Shoba Ghosh will read from it. The evening will also have musical performances and a short film-screening.

Death of a Salesman
Theatre
Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman is playing in the city this weekend. Prominent theatre artists like Sabira Merchant, Farrokh Mehta, Farid Currim and Rayo Noble are a part of the play which is directed by Alyque Padamsee, who also stars in the play. Death of a Salesman is a family drama about love and hate and is made gripping by crisp dialogues.
