Woodside Inn Concoctions: A New Spin on Classics

Kairitini, Woodside Inn
Woodside Inn in Colaba is a well-established South Bombay restaurant, known for serving diner style comfort food and a wide selection of beers. The suburbs celebrated when Woodside All Day Bar & Eatery came to Oshiwara, bringing with it old world charm. Over the last five months, the place has become very popular not only for it’s food, but also for it’s well stocked bar.
Their creative bunch of bartenders and chefs love to experiment, creating exciting drinks for customers to enjoy. This summer they have introduced a whole new range of cocktails, which are inspired by classics but are refreshingly new and promise to surprise your palette.

Taqueray Melon Fizz, Woodside Inn
Fruity Flavors
The current favourite is the Kairitini, a drink that draws inspiration from the traditional Aam Panha and adds to it the kick of Vodka. The flavor profile is distinctly Indian; even the garnish is the Indian kesar. Bottle mangoes or langda, suit this drink perfectly providing the necessary acidity and tanginess. And if you walk in from the hot sun, perhaps the best cocktail for you is the Taqueray Melon Fizz. The watermelon is clearly the star of this refreshing drink.

Bloody Maria, Woodside Inn
Spicing things up!
The quirkiest is the Bloody Maria. No you didn’t misread that. Based on the classic Bloody Mary, Woodside has created Bloody Maria, a tequila based cocktail with the spice of Tabasco and sweetness of watermelon. They use tomato puree instead of the regular packaged tomato juice which makes all the difference, taking away the sharpness associated with a Bloody Mary. The drink is served with some olives, gherkins and cucumbers on a skewer. What’s more? It’s served in a pickle jar!
Another interesting concoction in a jar is the Spiced Rum Mojito, which has hints of pepper, cinnamon and cloves. It is packed with juice and chunks of mandarins and served with a sugarcane stick for a stirrer. Definitely worth a try!
Cocktails price range: Rs. 250 to Rs. 350 (Available at both Colaba and Oshiwara)
